Committees centered on four designated task force subjects: Transportation, Sustainability, Water Resources and Southern Dallas meet regularly to discuss high priority issues. Current board members undertake the challenge of chairing a taskforce committee annually, which includes encouraging both member and nonmember contributions on relevant issues. The council plans its breakfast program speakers centered on task force committee recommendations.

Task force committee work results in membership resolutions for action submitted to the Texas Legislature and/or the media and the general public.

New members can gather together to examine new issues or form new task forces; other subject potentials might be Greenspace: Parks etc., Infrastructure Funding, Affordable Housing, Social Equity, the Trinity River and the Environment/Clean Air.

During the second half of 2011, several task forces plan to host "Brown Bag" education discussions in various locations throughout Dallas. These luncheon opportunities will be free and hosted by large corporations interested in the subject matter.
