Charter Statement: The objective of the Sustainable Development Task Force is to educate the community about and advocate for environmentally responsible development of the Metroplex. It is our goal to develop, promote and support private and public policies, practices and legislation that conserve our finite water, energy and material resources and reduce carbon emissions while fostering community connectivity and integration. Examples include transit oriented developments that integrate pedestrian, automobile and transit modes; mixed use developments that incorporate residential, office and commercial uses for a live/work/play environment; developments that promote community connectivity and integration; and environmentally responsible and efficient developments through building and site design, adaptive reuse, open space and urban design. |
